So, it is Christmas Eve (again, have a Merry and Safe Christmas everyone!) and while I’d love to dish out a slew of half-assed articles and nonesensical rants… I’m going to opt to give you the news in “blurb” form (even more half-assed) and link to the complete stories from folks that are actually spending their Holiday by writing about the Vikes.
Here we go:
- It looks like Brett Favre has agreed to bury the hatchet with Brad Childress over the recent fiasco. Childress is saying all the right things as well. They appear to have kissed and made up… when the cameras are on anyways. I just hope Favre stops stiffling the runnning game.
- It sounds like the doctors at the Mayo Clinic have come up with a migraine control plan for Percy Harvin. At this point, it seems like we’ll be getting Harvin back with very few worries.
- Yet another reason to stick with the running game, Brett Favre is benefitting greatly from play action.
- Here is a look at how the NFC North did in the draft this season. Hint: The article mentions Asher Allen!
- The upcoming game against the Bears means something for sure.
- A “catch-all” article shows Bevell’s role in the Favre vs. Brad fiasco, shows how the Vikings are far healthier than the Bears, and points out who has gotten recent awards on the team.
- Pro Bowl fan voting closed this week, and the Vikings continued to dominate this portion of the selection process.
- Here is a question for you all. Would it worry you to see Shanahan join Cutler and the Bears?
- While Tyrell Johnson is in no immediate dangerof losing his starting gig, Jamarca Sanford is ready and waiting if he continues to miss tackles.
- Bryant McKinnie wants to put last week behind him and focus on becoming a better left tackle.
Okay, now go drink some egg nog and give someone a nice present!

Gee Adam I cant believe you put a link to AV here. Shame-shame
Sorry Johnny, but I try not to discriminate. But, have you ever noticed where the “Access Vikings” link on my blogroll brings you?
If not, give it a click.
Ya Adam I did notice that. It takes you right to the AV archives. When did you do that? Its not a regular link for me.
For Xmas I’d like the Vikes to try Sanford at safety for the last 2 regular season games.
Does anyone else think he CANNOT do any worse?
McKinnie becoming a better left tackle – thats something we’ve been wishing for for quite a while.
No Briano it cant get any worse than Tyrell. Its just Childos stubborness that keeps him starting. We all remember the Tjack experiment.
I second that Brian
I think Sanford will be starting before the season is over…
Hey guys,
Merry Christmas to you all Have a Great Holiday!!!
Catcha later
Purple
Charlie dont discount Childos arrogance. He did take Tyrell in the second round last year. He will never admit failure.
Johnny, You could be right,
T-Jack was a 2nd round they moved up to get…
Warwas I truly want to thank you for always being on the ball! I have limited time to check all blogs and links as there are many and I have a number of other things on my plate. I know I can always turn to Vikingsgab to get a good sampling of what is being said. I know that eventually as the article mentions Asher A will become a regular contributor. All good things come to those who wait. Slow and steady wins the race Asher has talent and skill. Just thought I’d stick that in there! Merry Christmas Warwas! Thanks again!
I second G.P. Really appreciate the quality of content and the links to other great articles. Merry Christmas all! (All I want is a dead bear!)
McKinney:
“Usually on the road, no matter who the tackle is, if you have a premier pass rusher, they usually get help,” McKinnie said. “I didn’t get any. That’s not to blame. At the end of the day, I still have to do what I have to do. You have to be comfortable. I don’t think I was comfortable with a lot of stuff I was doing.”
Ya think?
Glad to hear he wasn’t comfortable with getting his ass handed to him all day. It’s not easy to double a guy who is bull rushing the crap out our left tackle. Did he want someone standing directly behind him keeping him upright?
Brian says it was one of his TWO worst performances. Do you mean to tell Freds that this jackass sat back and said, ” Hmmm I shouldn’t feel that bad, I’ve played worse.”
Fragile Fred Clause, I like that. Where’s my Christmas presents? Easy Saint Freds this is Christmas, shouldnt be calling people names today. But tomarrow you can call Bmac a jackass all you want.
Thank you Johnny, you are correct, your old pal should have waited a day.
“I feel like this is an attempt to divide the team. I’m here to tell you that it’s not going to happen. We know what our goal is. We know what we’re here for and we all have the same goal. Nothing has changed. This is just an attempt to divide the Minnesota Vikings and it won’t happen.”

Hope all my fellow bloggers had a great Christmas!
Hey CC. I read through Robisons live chat and came away with the same thoughts. I’m not sensing any divide in the team at all. We have alot of great veteran leadership.
Johnny,
They do have alot of veteran leadership, I’m sure they are working on that running game, Look at last year, If they were playing the run game like last year!!! I like sully alot, I wished they would have kept Matt 1 more year, allot of people felt he lost a step.
But he still would of been fine…
Hi cc,
Thanks I did, Hope ya had a Great one too!!!
Hadn’t read that about what Sidney said, That’s good to know, It doesn’t surprise me the way they have acted towards each other up to this difference of opinions, Been a stick up for everyone team …
“I feel like this is an attempt to divide the team. I’m here to tell you that it’s not going to happen.
Who is Sid referring to? An attempt by who? The old banjo player? or is Sid playing the, “this issue is all media driven” card? This entire thing was a creation by Favre, no ifs ands or buts. The idiot shouldn’t have mouthed off to the press. This was a real issue, it wasn’t until the Wrangler man decided to act like a two year old that this became a problem.
So if Sid is saying Brent attempted to create the divide, he may have a point, otherwise, please Sid don’t blame someone else for a self inflicted wound by Favre. This is the same crap he pulled in Green Bay.
Freds Clause, you wouldnt give any blame to Childo? Why would Favre want to divide the team? We all know the pros and cons of having Favre and Childo should’ve known better.
Johnny are you saying its Chillys fault Farve spoke to the press after last weeks game? You’ve got some splainin’ to do Lucy.
Freds beginning to think you think it was Chilly’s fault Kennedy was shot in Dallas. Think Chilly was the second shooter in the grassy knoll? There was an unexplained shiny object, perhaps the sun shinning of the dome of coach chilly?
No Freds I’m not blaming Childo for Favre talking to the media. I’m just saying Childo should have known better than to put Brett in that position. We all knew that Favre would spill it in the media, so just sayin Childo should have known also.
I agree Freds. But the damage is done.
Vikes cant afford to point fingers at each other, not now. So I think I like what Rice is saying, the media is overhyping this.
Why not say it, and take advantage of it. I think as a player thats the best way to go about it. Cause what Chilly did was almost as bad. To be able to show your coach and QB you have their back without takin sides, its as good a card to play as any.
Perhaps your right Carters.
Freds you gotta watch NFL network right now. The swimsuit special is on and I know Freds likes to admire the cheerleaders.
We’re a day late with this week’s Handle
Lion @ 49er
Line: San Francisco by 11 ½
The Lion have now lost 19 straight on road, including all seven this season. Each of this year’s defeats have been by double digits. While we’re not anxious to be giving away this many with sub .500 San Francisco squad, it is preferred to alternative.
TAKING: San Francisco –11 ½
Viking @ Bear
Line: Minnesota by 7
Brett Favre’s diva ways resurfacing but may not matter against this woeful opponent. Bear have tossed in the towel and have covered just one game since mid-October. Minnesota can’t let up with Eagle chasing them for #2 spot.
TAKING: Minnesota –7
Lost Viking,
They can’t let up, I don’t see Denver going in and beating Philly tomorrow, Not gonna happen.
Adam,
Do you think you will be doing a Live Blog Monday night game?
Charlie, my guess is he will. It is a prime time game, but I dont know if Adam has other things going on. As popular as the live blogs have become, Adam will host one if at all possible.
Hey ya johnny,
Yeah Live Blogs are cool, Man would love to see Denver upset the Eagle tomorrow, But like I replyed to Lost Viking, Not gonna happen. But if the Vikes win the last 2 games, It won’t matter
Charlie, you can never say never in the NFL. You are probably right about Denver going into Philly, but you never know. The Broncos are no pushover. But we can all agree, lets just win and not worry about other teams.
We need to get back to running the ball but if we dont do it better than we have been the last few games then what? Chili doesnt want ANY qb audibling EVER and thats just wrong. Look at Peyton Manning, he gets to audible. The playcalling last year without Favre sucked.
Agree Skillet. Favre has earned the right to be able to audible. I dont think 5 times a game is to many audibles. Childo did bring Favre in to run the offense and now he’s complaining about a few audibles?
Skillet,
Just want to see the Offensive line come together, They open holes for AP and Chester, Then the passing game opens up, Plus Time control, Wears oppossing defense’s down, In turn keeps our’s fresh, It all starts up front…
