Frazier To Interview With Bills Today

Leslie Frazier is rumored to be interviewing for the head coaching job with the Buffalo Bills on Thursday.

Due to the fact that the Vikings have a bye week, assistants and coordinators from the team are allowed to be interviewed by other teams.

Frazier, who joined the Vikings in 2007, will meet with Bills officials in Minnesota.

How badly does Leslie Frazier want to become a Head Coach? From the outside the Buffalo Bill don’t appear to be anyone’s top choice. Ralph Wilson has a history as a hands-on owner. The handling of Dick Jauron didn’t win him any friends.

Buddy Nix is the new GM reporting to Russ Brandon and Wilson. Currently, its stable and there may be some GM-like functions in the future. Wilson’s age and medical issues have resulted in speculation into future of franchise. Family is expected to want to let it go. There’s concern over economic health of northern NY state. Two games a year in Toronto are used just as a revenue boost.

The roster has some talent but has been in decline. The offensive line was dismal. D-line has seemed to regress a bit. From the outside its far from a perfect landing spot. Still, Billick and younger Schottenheimer are reported to be ready-to-go. Wilson said he was going to interview Perry Fewell for job so Rooney Rule might not apply.

I absolutely hate the timing on these types of interviews. We can all understand what it would be like to have the biggest interview of your life…..at a time when his full attention should be on preparing his defense.

Sure, we’ll get the classic cliches…”Leslie is a professional, he won’t let this deter his focus for the Vikings”….but the reality is, this will be occupying a large part of his brain for the very near future.

The NFL needs to put out a moratium on hiring head coaches until after the Super Bowl(copyright NFL), as this is fair to no one.

Frazier might want to consider Seattle as a destination. Mora’s out.

Good move by Frazier turning down the interview with the SeaHawg. It appears SeaHawg wanted to use Frazier to get the Rooney Rule out of the way to clear the path for Pete Carroll.

Frazier saw through it and just called them on it. Smart move
