Adam’s Awards: Defensive Player Of The Year

It is hard to be a consistent contributor from the defensive end position in the NFL.  If a defensive end “does his job” and gets to the quarterback once every two games they are considered pretty darn good.

The Vikings have a guy at the right end position that does a lot more than that.

Jared Allen is second in the NFL with 14.5 sacks of the quarterback.  He also registered 42 solo tackles, 5 batted passes, an interception, 5 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries, and a touchdown.

If that isn’t a great stat line then I don’t know what is.

Besides being a vocal leader on defense, Allen also has a knack for getting the home crowd involved when they are most needed.

The trade for Allen is still paying dividends and I am sure glad he is on our team, because I would hate to see what our offensive line would look like lining up against him.

The guy had more defensive game-changing plays than anyone else on the team, point blank.

Can’t go wrong with the pick,
Jared Allen has alot of passion for the game, and it spills over on the field and on the sidelines, and home crowd as quoted.

I hope he Redlines Everybody next week!!!
