The Biggest Threat To Our Offense

It is no secret that DeMarcus Ware is the Cowboys biggest defensive threat to the Vikings chances for success on Sunday.

Jared Allen know first-hand what it takes to be an elite pass rusher in the NFL and even he has nothing but respect for what Ware has done over the years, including this one.

“Ware’s a great player,” Allen said. “I’ve got a lot of respect for that guy. I’m actually a big fan of his, watching him play. He’s a good human being. That’s probably what I’m the biggest fan of. Just watching people have success is really cool. The guy does things to tackles that are impressive. You watch him work. I thought he was going to get that sack record. I can’t say anymore about it.”

Ware amassed 11 sacks this season.  In addition to that, Ware stepped up his game in the playoff game against the Eagles and registered 2 sacks and forced a fumble.

Ware will be an immense challenge for Bryant McKinnie on Sunday.  McKinnie will need help in blocking if the Vikings want to avoid seeing McKinnie fall completely apart like he did when he faced Julius Peppers.

Allen finished his praise of Ware by simply stating, “I think he’s awesome.”

Let’s hope our braintrust learned from that Carolina fiasco and have made the appropriate adjustments. Not only in blocking Ware, but in screening and running at him to slow that charge up just a tad.

    Burn in Omaha, you Chowboys!!

I dont know why, but I have a feeling Mckinnie will do a good job in handeling Ware. I just feel as though the rest the vikings got last week will tremendously help them in this upcoming game with the ‘boys. I have faith that Mckinnie will play like the pro-bowler he is and block Ware/the cowboys effectivly. As for Loadholt, i have more question, but he is one big monster. The cowboys need to beat him with speed, not strength, cuz in no way is he going to get pushed around.

JerryK, thanks for stopping into the Gab! I hope you stick around and comment some more, its always great to see new faces here.

I agree, something tells me McKinnie/Kleinsasser will do a better job than Loadholt/Shiancoe… we’ll see.

I agree with Coach about running right at Ware, they seem to be a bit undersized. I think if we have our big guys lean on em, before too long they will wear down. Then the play action will be the dagger

Oh btw, I was thinkin about buying this Favre rookie card. What do you guys think?

Ware is a very capable run stopper, but our best run blockers are on the left side… so its kind of a wash.

Perhaps commit to doubling Ware and then run right at Spencer all day long?

  4. Trent Dilfer says:

You forget that Spencer is excellent against the run.
