$428 To Go With 40 Days Left

As many of the regular readers of this site already know, I am endeavoring to help sports programs in underprivileged K-12 schools receive funding that they are having trouble getting through traditional means.

Using DonorsChoose.org, the first project we are looking at is one in Kansas.  Teacher Mr. F is asking for funding to obtain equipment to start a flag football program for his students in grades 3-5.  The project request for $579 had not received a single penny of donations until my first post.  After my first post, nine Vikings Gab readers got the ball rolling by donating over $150 to the project.

Way to go, guys and gals!

That means that Mr. F. has 40 days to raise $428 more dollars to fully fund his very worthwhile program.

Mr. F. was very grateful for the generosity shown by you all, and recently left a comment saying “Thank You so much for the support Adam and fellow Viking Gab readers! Hopefully we can make some future Viking players!”

My full explanation as to why I decided to start doing this can be read here, but the nut-shell version is basically that in hard times, the sports and the arts are the first things to have their funding cut despite their importance to our society on many levels.

If you can afford it and are interested, please feel free to keep our efforts moving by checking our Mr. F’s project and considering a donation.  You can view the Donors Choose page and make a donation by clicking here.

Thanks again to all of those who donated and all the other sites out there that mentioned the effort!

Pretty darn good Charlie. I’m a corn/soybean farmer so things have been pretty slow but with two kids playing basketball i end up running all over the place. And yes go Colts! Tell Mrs. PC I’m rooting with her.

That’s cool, Yeah I bet the kids keep ya busy lol. The Mrs. said to tell ya Hi, and said she is glad your rooting with her…

Johnny, I’ll watch the game, but probably not the presentation of the Lombardi Trophy…
