OFFSEASON PREVIEW: Special Teams

All of my other offseason previews were pretty extensive, but this one will be pretty simple.

Ryan Longwell, Chris Kluwe, and Cullen Loeffler all played pretty darn well in 2009 and all three should be back in 2010.

Longwell is in a contract year, but if the Vikings plan on replacing him they will probably due it via a move next season.  Kluwe is locked up to a long term contract unless an upgrade is found.  Loeffler will stick to the roster unless the Vikings find a center that can also long snap.

In the end, I expect no changes unless an absolute steal comes about.

As far as coverage-unit guys, I addressed these more in my position-by-position breakdowns which you can find by clicking the “2010 Offseason Tracker” tab at the top of the page.

I think you’re legally obligated to drop the name Farwell any time you make mention of special teams.

I believe it’s Cullen and not Chris Loeffler.
