More Rumors Before Bed
I think most of you have gone to bed already, but I still have another couple of hours in me so I’ll do my best to keep updating you on rumors involving free agency:
- The Lions are considered the-soon-to-be-official landing spot for former Vikings receiver Nate Burleson.
- The Bears are expected to offer Chester taylor something in the range of $8 million of gauranteed money.
- The Texans are not expected to have interest in Chester Taylor, despite previous reports, which can be directly attributed to their past failings when it comes to aging running backs.
- Taylor is expected to sign with a team within 48 hours, which is good news for the Vikings as if he goes to a new team then they would like him to sign as soon as possible and as big of a contract as possible… because that would give them more freedom in their own free agent activities.

Lying down on the job?
How does length of contract factor into calculation of guaranteed money? Four year deal being discussed?
Something to think about. If CT goes to Chicago he could be reunited in the backfield with Adrian Peterson.

Not sure on length of the contract… but at his age, the guaranteed amount is more important than the length of the contract anyways… Taylor wants the sure cash so if his body does start to wear down he is set regardless.

I do think 4 years sounds about right for Chet, though.

I’ve lost all hope of keeping Chet, time to move on and not with Westbrook.

Johnny with ya on Westbrook, I would like Thomas Jones, Had to vent about Brett last night, Sorry I’m better today lol… Brett will be back.
Somebody said earlier in the week if Jones and Favre could patch things up, I really feel he would be the best option if Chester isn’t coming back…
How do the rest of you guys feel about it???

Charlie, I’m not real high on Jones. He’s over 30 and has alot of wear and tear. Not a typical 3rd down back.

gotta feelin’ our next RB will be from the draft…rd 2 or 3 (Gerhart)
can’t blame Chester….the stars were lined up for him this year…
our FA pick up will probably be DB or OL
good work, Adam, your hours put in are greatly appreciated……you put in the work, we sit back and give opinions…hmmmmm, I like that!
GO VIKES!!!!!

Well Johnny, I feel the same way about LT… we agree on Westbrook… I don’t se any other 30 year old options…
Krug, Your right, Good for Chester, Just hope he isn’t a Bear before it’s over… Your right, Need someone to go to battle with Albert and Ian!!!

I don’t really know NFL defenses like some of you guys, but I keep thinking the cover-2 def we use prevents the one thing I wish we could do…..take away the ball on the opponent’s last drive….our bend but don’t break has me aging way before my time….unless we’re up by 17 with 1:55 to go, the game’s not in the bag! our improved pass rush has helped, but without better CB and S play, we’re not able to be an aggressive def at the end of a game…….it’s a def heavy draft, and I hope we get a couple of def gems!
GO VIKES!!!!!

He has a great sense of humor. I am sure he’s coming back for another year.
My best to Chester. Hopefully he’ll decide to stay, but best wishes if he goes for the money.

Dirt, Was mad because knowing ahead of time he wouldn’t commit…
But I did watch him Today, He is fun to watch… I would say he’s coming back also.
I’m with ya on Chester, Would rather have him go to the Lions over the Bears if he doesn’t stay…
