Eagles Done Thinking About Edwards?
After we discussed the rumor that the Eagles and Saints were potential suitors of restricted free agent Ray Edwards, I started seeing rumors pop up the Eagles weren’t actually interested at all.
If they were, then they probably are not now.
It was reported that the traded defensive end Chris Clemons and a fourth round draft pick t acquire defensive end Darryl Tapp.
This doesn’t automatically mean they’re done looking for defensive ends, but it likely means they won’t be planning to give up their first rounder for Edwards.
(UPDATE: This is related to the post. I just reviewed Brian Robison’s most recent live chat at Vikings Update. He suggests that Ray Edwards actually visited the Saints and the Eagles… which is news to me.)

More proof that Ray, Ray isnt quite as good as he thinks he is.

My estimate of value for Ray Edwards would be mid 2nd round…..
Edwards and an exchange of 1st rounders could move Viking up to #12 (Miami) or #13 (SF) and a shot at Jimmy Clausen.
Then, of course, if you had him what would you do with Clausen?

Though I am often critical of Ray, he is a 25 year old pass rusher (who holds up decently against the run) that put up 8.5 sacks through the season and looked absolutely dominate in the playoffs. No offense, but I think that values
him way higher then a mid-second rounder. With the importance placed on pass-rushers.. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Vikings were to match an offer by a team like the Saints given how late their pick is in Round one!!
