Two Months Too Late

The NFL has voted on a proposed change to how overtime will be conducted in the playoffs.

And the vote shockingly passed.

“Sudden Death” appears as if it will be modified so that both teams will not be able to simply win by kicking a field goal in overtime.  The owners will discuss extending this rule to include the regular season when meetings roll around in May.  The Vikings were one of only four teams to vote against the change.

More to come on the details… after I go watch the NFC Championship game again.

Wouldn’t it be something if the Saints beat the Vikings in the playoffs this year as a direct result of the new rules?  Ha!

if opening kick-off is fumbled and kicking team recovers, then immediately kicks FG, do they win?

According to Chris Mortenson Yes, because the team had an opportunity for a possession and messed it up.

    Adam,

VU has a headline that a defensive “tweener” has the Vikings interest. Any idea who that might be?

Who cares? Can’t do nothing about blown calls from the refs now. Man it still stings.
