Mock Draft Update

Well, the McNabb trade sent a ripple effect throughout mock drafts.

The Eagles now have the second round pick that belonged to the Redskins less than 24 hours ago.  The Redskins now seem highly unlikely to select a quarterback at the 4th overall spot.

Check out the “2010 mock draft” tab at the top of this page for updates to Viking Gab’s version.

The McNabb trade does affect the Viking QB situation. And it probably doesn’t help.

Acquisition of McNabb formally puts Jason Campbell on the market. Teams interested – Panther, Raider, Bill, Jaguar etc. – were the same as those considered interested in T-Jax. With Campbell available for as little as a 5th pick ask yourself who you would want – T-Jax or Campbell.

Similar style QBs but Campbell has height and experience advantage.

Lost…detail how you think it effects the Vikings?

    AK –

Check your pick of the Browns in round 2.

    • Adam Warwas says:

I know, I know… Bradford and Tebow… what for? Like someone said a few days back, I really think more qBs are going in the first two rounds than we think… but without doing the trades it is hard to predict.

Tebow and McCoy are the big losers here, becuase teams like the Browns are more likely to take a QB in round 1 and Tebow and McCoy could fall because of it. However, i think somebody trades up to grab Tebow right around there… could be the Vikes.

  4. Fragile Freds says:

    Who knows, perhaps.

Let us remember Pat White QB prospect (West Virginia)of very very questionable QB abilities. Old Pat went to the Dolphins at pick 44. The Dolphins picked Henne at 57 the prior year.

McCoy Tebow and Pike are all better QB prospects than Pat White. I know Pat is thought (or was thought) to be this “Wild Cat” dude. In any event Pat White will never be a pro QB and he went very high.

Time will tell on this year.

Trade back, Fred tells ya…trade back, make a killing in 2nd round picks!!

  5. Fragile Freds says:

Fred would definitely prefer Campbell over TJack. Freds really doesn’t think our guy TJack will be a Viking next year. Campbell is no superstar but he seems a step up from TJack.

Is Campbell a step up over Sage? Fred has no idea. If he is, then does the roster next year look like this:

    1) Banjo
    2) Campbell
    3) Pike ( or name your Rookie0

Campbell seems to be a more accomplished QB than either TJax and Sage. Fred really wonders how a guy like Campbell would do with the Vikes. The Redskins are such a crappy organization, perhaps in a back up roll he would do well here.

Chilly, take him down to the river and give him the test!!

    • Purple Charlie says:

Freds, With McNabb coming to the Redskins, Campbell’s status is up in the air, I really hope the Viking take a shot at getting him…

I agree that Campbell is more accomplished than Tarvaris, If Campbell had played for the Viking the past few years, He number would have been better, Just my opinion…

  6. Jerkpepper says:

The right move is to trade the first pick for Hank Baskett. Make the move!!!!!

  7. HOPPY says:

    Watch it Jerkpepper.

  8. Jerkpepper says:

You can’t tell me what to do!!!!

  9. coolio says:

Yeah he can.Adam is probably just bearing with you for the moment. He can make you spam if he wishes.

  10. Lost Viking says:

Can’t agree that Campbell would be an upgrade over T-Jax in Vike offense. T-Jax may be the more accurate downfield passer. He throws better than Campbell running left.

Campbell is a more experienced pivot with a height advantage.

Vike placed 3rd round tender on T-Jax indicating they were ready to place a deal. Campbell on the open market reduced Vike opportunity to get anything of value for T-Jax. If Vike can’t get anything for T-Jax they may decide not to draft QB this year.
