Favre Watch 2010 Is Heating Up

Yesterday, the internet was ablaze with rumors and speculation after a video emerged of Brett Favre working with Ryan Perrilloux.  Perrilloux recently earned a tryout with the Vikings after a bumpy career at LSU and Jacksonville State.

The connection between the Favre and Perrilloux is that they share an agent in Bus Cook.

Today, however, the latest news is not quite as encouraging.

Ed Werder of ESPN reports that Brett Favre’s ankle, which was injured during the NFC Championship Game, will need surgery if he wants to return in 2010.  Favre has seen Dr. James Andrews about the injury.

“We have spoken,” Favre said in an e-mail. “To play again, I would need the surgery, as I suspected. This decision would be easy if not for my teammates and the fans and the entire Vikings staff. One year truly felt like 10 — much like Green Bay for many years. That’s what I was missing in my heart I suppose, a sense of belonging.”

Favre, who is well known for hating surgery, will now have to decide whether that “sense of belonging” is strong enough to get the ankle fixed and play another year.

Oh, and in case you are curious, Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels are both 100% healthy.

Hey Adam, speaking of Vikings QBs, or rather former QBs; Joe Kapp had a $140 a plate breakfast for the local Boy Scouts. The reason I find it newsworthy is people actually paid $140 to listen to Joe Kapp talk. Makes me wonder how much other guys make. Anyway if you go to it will take you to the newspaper the article is in.

ok, ok, ok……let’s get the new stadium deal this month, then start TJ, then go 6 and 10 for the season, Brad’s job is safe with new contract, then grab our QB of the future with pick #9 next year…………see, this GM stuff isn’t as difficult as it appears…..

    GO VIKES!!!!!

  3. Norseman66 says:

The Vikes were on borrowed time with Farve. This very well could be the end for him. Not drafting Clausen (2 times) could very well come back to haunt the Vikes. At the very least, this puts the need for them to get a franchise QB next year in the draft or procure one during free agency (assuming there is football next year).

Honestly, I think this will just be his excuse to get out of training camp this year… I would be shocked if he decides to not have the surgery or something… he’ll just drag it on, get the surgery, spend the next few months “testing it out”, then when training camp is finished he’ll decide to come back and play.

“That’s what I was missing in my heart I suppose, a sense of belonging.”

Translation…. “That’s what I was missing, having everyone tell me how great I am, begging me to come back, doing Sears commercials, having John Madden’s tongue in my ear.”

    Please RETIRE!
