The First One Falls

One good thing about not having a first round pick this year is we save a little money (based on last year’s numbers it should be around 3 million, of which could be put towards new contracts for Greenway, Rice, and possibly Edwards). Also, there should be no hold-outs from camp, now only if Stanford would graduate before Christmas we should have full attendance (injuries and a certain QB excluded) at all OTAs and Training Camp.

Vikings signed seventh-round FB Ryan D’Imperio to a multi-year contract. (no details yet)

A linebacker at Rutgers, D’Imperio is converting into a FB and should make a good ST for the Vikings, or some good practice squad fodder. He’ll probably have to beat out Naufahu Tahi and/or Kenny Onatalu to make the roster. Personally anything to get rid of our “12th Man” in Tahi is good news to me.

This now makes what, thirteen (slight exaggeration), fullbacks on the team?
