Robison Uses Same Phrase As Bowe

Chiefs receiver Dwayne Bowe has been under fire recently for an interview with Sports illustrated in which he discusses his teammates “importing” women to their hotels.  The fire grew hotter when Pro Football Talk picked up on the matter.

On the same day, PFT took aimat Bowe for another comment in which he may have crossed a line better left uncrossed.  When asked about having another year to gain better chemistry with Matt Cassell Bowe has this to say, “”It’s like an extra year with your girlfriend trying to map things out.  You know, those quarterbacks, they’re like my girlfriend.  No homo.”

It is the last two words of that statement that caused PFT to jump on him.  Now, I’m not so sure that the use of somewhat mainstream phrase (I guess it is some song or something?  Geesh, I need to get out more.) is quite on the same level as Larry Johnson calling somebody a “f-agg-t.”

However, I can see Florio’s point as to how NFL players need to be careful when speaking… something which Bowe apparently does not grasp, and how continuous loose lips could get a player in trouble.

What will be interesting, however, is to see if the “no homo” comment does get Bowe into any sort of trouble.

The reason is that if there is a precedent put out there that players can get into some sort of trouble for using the phrase, then our own Brian Robison may also find himself on the defensive.

During a live chatthree days ago, Robison was asked the question, “If the Vikings were to hold a player swimsuit competition who would win?”

Robison’s response was simple and to the point.  “NO HOMO,” he wrote.

Now, Robison doesn’t have the supposed attitude problem that Bowe does.  He also doesn’t seem to have a bad case of diarrhea of the mouth, Like Bowe does.  However, if the NFL decides that the use of the phrase is offensive and warrants punishment to Bowe, then not punishing Robison as well could be viewed as a double standard.

I don’t believe this will be going anywhere.  But keep a close eye on the happenings surrounding Bowe, because if the hammer ever does fall it potentially could hit Robison on the way down.

Yeah, that’s it, “importing” women on to a boat for a dinner cruise.

Homo, Shomomo…. the NFL better off not getting into the banned word list.

This is sooooo dumb! Has it been a slow news day? Robison is trying to have fun and chat with fans, which he doesn’t have to do, and I’m guessing he might not chat again if this actually gets brought up. Robison is a great guy.

A little late with this repsonse, but when this old teacher can’t keep up with the kids, I check the urban slang dictionaries!

No Homo: (From the Urban Dictionary)

Phrase used after one inadvertently says something that sounds gay.

Ex: “His ass is mine. No homo.”

IMO, I think referring to Cassell as a girl is probably more offensive to the NFL than the phrase “No homo.”

But what do I know? I’m just waiting for my next “happy dance” with Mr. ABV and the Vikings season to begin!!

As we know Brian Robinson is a getto child!

ABV, Freds doesn’t need an urban dictionary to translate Robinson’s comments, he was simply saying he isn’t a homo. Doesn’t need translation.

Well, tonights your old pal Freds will be chillin’ wit the bitch in the crib, homies.

    Peace out!

It’s from the song Run this Town by Jay-Z. Kanye West sings that part of the song.
