Well, we got some fantastic Friday news for you all… Judge Gary Larson has decided to give Pat and Kevin Williams a victory on Friday when he granted them an injunction.
The purpose of the motion is to prevent the NFL from imposing their suspensions until or unless the Williamses have exhausted the appeal process.
Also, as profootballtalk.com points out, it is highly unlikely, given the ruling, that the suspensions would need to be served in 2010 because of how long an appeal process can take. Essentially, it sounds near certain that Pat and Kevin Williams (and Saints defensive end Will Smith) will be allowed to participate in the 2010 season.
While there was a certain amount of confidence in the depth along our defensive line, it sure will be nice knowing that the WilliamsWall will be hanging around for at least another year.
This should put an end to the Fat Albert talk. Great news.
It would be nice if the NFL would just drop this matter once and for all. If not, I hope they really get their fingers slapped good upon any more appeals. It would serve them right.
