Jared Talks About Favre, Haynesworth, & Himself

Apparently Brett Favre politely declined to attend Jared Allen’s recent wedding (the wedding is better known as a funeral for his mullet) and Allen apparently doesn’t mind.

He also apparently doesn’t mind that Favre forgot to RSVP when it comes to attending offseason events. He is still assuming Favre will be back for another season, however.

“If I was a betting man, and I had to put money on it today, absolutely,” Allen recently said on ESPN Radio in Chicago. “I hope if the answer was no, he would have already had the wherewithal to tell us that he’s not coming back so we could have done something in free agency.”

As Mike Florio points out, the contention that the Vikings would have chased one of the less-than-stellar free agent quarterbacks this year is not exactly speaking highly of the Vikings quarterbacks not named Brett Favre.

“But again, the man’s earned the right to do what he pleases,” Allen said. “He hasn’t let anybody down yet, so I’m not here to start harping on it yet.”

Jared Allen, like most people, see a glaring difference between Favre’s situation and the Redskin’s situation with Albert Haynesworth.

“If I’m a teammate like that, I’m probably pretty [ticked], because that’s a pretty lucrative contract,” Allen said. “I’m all for everybody getting the most money they can get, and getting paid, because our career is brutal and doesn’t last very long. But I’m also a man of my word and integrity. When I sign a contract, I’m going to show up and I’m going to play it out.”

I like Jared Allen just as much as the last guy, but if that last self-righteous portion of his quote were true, then he probably wouldn’t be a Viking as he wouldn’t have been threatening a hold out during the final year of his contract with the Chiefs thus forcing a trade.

Also, he didn’t exactly play every game he was contracted to play when he was in Kansas City, because his multiple drunk-driving episodes didn’t allow him to.

Wow Adam, you ain’t afraid of nobody, are you?
The guy loves to hunt. I wouldn’t be surprised if he comes up here sometime in near future.
He’ll probably come for Bear & Moose, maybe some wolf hunting. But don’t be surprised if he inquires about a “Warwas” tag.

Let’s face is, Jared Allen is a big mouth jackass. I’m glad he wears purple, put he’s not exactly the brightest bulb on the tree. Stick to football Jared and doing that dopey calf wrap up thing you like to do.

Ok, I guess it’ll be “Freds ala’ Warwas” for Jared’s Alaskan meal.

Johnny and Ole, I hear the best way to cook a Warwas is with a little freds.
You can find the actual receipe in Jared Allen’s new cook book, “Killing, preparing & cooking my enemies”

    Carters,

    That’s Mr. kook to you!!

  6. bigjohnny84 says:

How ironic, Freds calling someone else a big mouth jackass. Go figure.

  7. Fragile Freds says:

A little slow Johnny, but at least you can still hit the slow pitch.
