Pitts May Not Be On Schedule

I had previously mentioned that July 15th was a day to keep an eye on because that is the day the supplemental draft is to take place and also because that is the day guard Chester Pitts was supposed to hold a private workout.

The intention of the workout, which the Vikings were expected to attend, was for Pitts to show off how well the rehabilitation of his knee was going.

Apparently, that rehabilitation may not be going all that well.

PFT reports that Pitts has yet to officially schedule the workout because he is still recovering from his microfracture surgery.

This is no good. The Vikings desperately need a veteran backup offensive lineman. I really cannot see how they can go into the season with Ryan Cook as the main backup and DeGeare, Cooper, Radovick, Clark, & Brown as the other alternates.

    Scary and risky.

They may have to trade for somebody.

    But who?

What would it take to get Logan Mankins from the Patriots and can he play right guard until Hutch retires. And do they have the moola to pay him what he wants?

I would attempt to trade for Marcus McNeil from the Chargers. I would offer McKinnie and our 2nd next year and a 3rd in 2012.
