We had previously mentioned that coach Brad Childress was to be joined by Eagles coach Andy Reid, Panthers coach John Fox, and Bengals coach Marvin Lewis on a USO tour to the Persian Gulf.
Their first day got off to a bit of a rough start when Reid was allowed to be in the cockpit of their C17 during takeoff from Germany.
The plane struck a bird and the plane had to return to base.
“As soon as the head coach of the Eagles descended from the cockpit, the group was ready for him: ‘Who let Captain Eagle up there? . . . Nice work, Birdman. . . Reid is done; no more flying for him!’ I think I even heard Fox mention that it was a good thing that we didn’t have to call in Sully for the emergency landing,” reads the NFL.com article about the day.
“I guess a USO tour really is like a football game,” Childress told the league’s official web site. “You go in with a game plan. But to be good, you have to be flexible, know how to deal with ambiguity, and adjust.”
Since participating in USO tour is such a noble deed, I’ll let that quote from Childress go without even making a snide comment.
This time.

My sincere condolences to the family of the bird. Seems like the most important piece of this news.
If I may, Adam…
“… and knowing the rules, like number of players allowed in a huddle, for instance.”
Great to see ya back coach and glad things went well with yours. Now if we could locate Purple Charlie and know things were well with him.
Thanks for the good work, Coach. And so glad to have you back!
Aren’t the Twins on? Go back to your barko lounger!!!
I take it the fridge gave up its last Colt, eh Freds? Water will do in a pinch.
Thanks johnny. First and ten here. Hope things are the same for you, and Charlie as well. And as Andy Reid was so rudely reminded, watch out for birds!
And btw coach, they havent done a damn thing about the o-line. They seem to be ok with what they got, big mistake imho. They even brought in another rb and wr, not exactly positions of need.
haha thats a funny article. gotta watch out for those birds

He said he is “Feelin purdy gid.”
Carters,
Are you trying to get your old pal Fragile in trouble here? Fred was right, see that?
Purples….. don’t bitch slap Fragile, he is trying to reform his ways.
Fred apologizes in advance to all the bitches, sorry in advance for Fred’s insensitive comments about, bitches.
You are trying to live up to your New Years resolution arent ya Freds? Proud of ya
Thats a nice touch, johnny. Freds seems a little cranky for whatever reason, maybe dealing with another year of the Wrangler isn’t what he’s lookin’ forward to. Probably needs a Super Bowl ring or a boat ride… or a re-stock of Colts.
