Rice’s Live Chat Leaves Questions

Yesterday, Vikings receiver Sidney Rice took to NFL.com’s live chat arena to answer a few questions from fans.

When asked about his injured hip, Rice gave a somewhat reassuring and somewhat surprising answer.

“I feel like it’s going to be fine. I just want it to be ready for the first regular season game. I had a couple of meetings with the doctor and I’m not going to need surgery. I’m just being cautious right now, doing rehab and I’ll be ready for the start of the season.”

Last week, Rice was sounding pretty confident that he would be healthy in time for training camp but now seems to have backed off and made the “start of the season” his deadline.

It sure seems like more is probably going on here than meets the eye.  Rice is in a contract year and is following a breakthrough performance in 2009.

And Drew Rosenhaus is his agent.

Maybe Rice is looking for an excuse to miss training camp? Favre wont be there. I really dont like Rosenhaus, he seems to be a greedy SOB.

All the players are unhappy and nervous about their contracts. With no collective bargaining agreement teams don’t want to renew. I don’t like the fact that the Vikings are getting all the problems that normally come to teams that win the Super bowl but we didn’t even get the ring. Brett Favre could put an end to a lot of this “no show” mentatlity if he would announce he’s coming back and show up for training camp! This team would really come together. I don’t see it happening.
