Cook Hasn’t Received An Offer Yet

Pro Football Weekly talked with Chris Cook’s agent, HadleyEnglehard, on Monday and he answered the questions some of you may have had as to whose fault it is that the Vikings have been so slow in signing their rookies.

“We’re waiting for something from the Vikings, and we’ll go from there,” he said, indicating that the Vikings have yet to even extend an offer to their top pick of 2010.

“I think the toughest thing is the language of these contracts,” Englehard said. “If we’re paying someone an option bonus on the first day of the league year … well, what if there is no new year?  What if there’s a lockout? It makes it a little tricky when it comes to writing up the language.”

The Vikings have been lagging on the rookie signing front, and the reasons are not totally known.  However, I wouldn’t be surprised if all the rookies are under contract by Friday’s training camp opener.
