Vikings Swing A Trade

The Vikings have reportedly begun to fill the void left by Sidney Rice by swinging a trade with the Miami Dolphins.

They have traded for receiver Greg Camarillo.  Compensation is not yet known, but rumor has it that cornerback Benny Sapp is involved.

Camarillo has played one year with the Chargers and three with the Dolphins.  Since joining the Dolphins, he has 113 passes for 1,325 yards and four touchdowns.  He was the hero of the Dolphins 1-15 season when he hauled in a 64 yard touchdown at the last minute to give the Fins their only win of that season.  That was Camarillo’s only catch of 40 yards or longer in his NFL career.

He enters his fifth year at age 28.

I’ll be sure to keep you updated on the move that could mean Logan Payne does not make this team.

UPDATE:  It appears to be confirmed that this trade is player-for-player, Camarillo for Sapp.

This sure doesnt look like an upgrade to what we already have especially if we lose Sapp.

Sapp was going to be cut anyway. But yeah, we don’t need another poor man’s Greg Lewis, who was a poor man’s Dante Stallworth.

Good trade, like star said I don’t think Sapp makes the team. Camarillo hasn’t had much for QB’s in Miami the last two years.

    Go Vikes
