Peterson Claims To Have Found A Fix

Adrian Peterson seems to be a prideful guy, so one has to assume that all of the offseason criticism and joking about his fumbling habit really got to him.

Well, Peterson claims he has fixed his fumbling ways and is daring a defender to try and take the ball out of his hands.

“I look forward for guys to try and tackle me and tackle the ball,” he said. “They might not be on the field too long if they continue to do that.”

“I found out at times by studying myself that when I’m going down, I kind of brace myself with the hand that I’m carrying the ball in and that’s leaving opportunities for those guys that are in there scraping and punching for that ball, gives those guys opportunities to make big plays,” he said. “I’m a pretty tough guy, so I just [need to] keep the ball high and just fall down. It is instincts, but when that becomes a problem you’re able to sit there and say, ‘Hey, I’ve got to eliminate doing this.'”

I thought Peterson become much, much better as a pass blocker over the course of the 2009 season, but he probably hears the criticisms about that part of his game, as well.  Peterson, however, sounds like he’s up to the task of keeping the Saints off of Favre’s back on Thursday.

“Those guys got some cheap shots in,” Peterson said of the NFC Championship Game. “We’re going to definitely eliminate those hits.”

Despite the fact that this year’s Vikings team has plenty of question marks, Peterson is the one that holds the key to success.  If he can be a productive runner behind that offensive line, catch passes from Favre, hold on to the football, pick up blitzers, and stay healthy… then many of those questions are immediately answered… in a good way.

Ok, but I’m more concerned about the fumbles that happened when he was far from falling down (Green Bay, Chicago, etc.). I’ll take your word for it, AP, but the proof is always on the field, not in the paper (on the internet, whatever).

I’m with Bud on this, That one at Chicago made me sick …I really hope he has this under control.
You feel he has become a better pass blocker over the 2009 season, Hope he continues to improve, Losing Chester was a hit to the RB core for sure…

I trust AP. He is too proud to not fix a problem like this. I would love nothing more than to see him hurt Anthony Hargrove, that worthless ghetto rat.

Matter of fact, I’d like to see all of those thugs from Nawlins go down with busted femurs. It’s too bad Sharper isn’t playing. Ex-viking or not, he deserves to be broken in half for his attitude alone, not to mention the late hit he put on Favre.

I don’t care if we win or lose, as long as the Vikings dish out some unholy punishment on every Saints player.

    Alright, rant over. SKOL!

    That’s alright Zag,
Alot of guys feel the same, The Vikings at the top of the list…

I want to see them lay the wood to them !!!
And a win to rub it in their faces…
    GO VIKINGS !!!
