Ryan Cook Heads Back To Bench

I, along with some of you, was really hoping that Ryan Cook could prove to be the Vikings answer at the center position.  After all, it was five years ago that Cook was drafted as a center, and Monday was his first start at the position.

However, it appears that even with regular starter John Sullivan out of action with a calf injury, Cook will be asked to take a seat.

Against the Jets, it was in the third quarter that Cook was benched and Jon Cooper lined up at center again.  Childress cited “a couple of protection calls, getting our line slid the correct direction” as reasons for switching to Cooper.

“I thought Coop played decently,” Childress said. “I don’t think we had center-quarterback exchange issues that I’m aware of there. We hadn’t talked about him that much so I thought he did OK.”

Childress was asked if Cook had been permanently put behind Cooper on the depth chart and his answer was uncharacteristically clear.

“I would say right now, yep.”

    Adam,
I would say that was the most direct Childress has ever been!!!
I wish he would make a habit out of doing that…

By the way, Johnny and WTF were the only two that predicted a Jets victory. Johnny was closer on the spread, congrats!

Easy wtf, you are correct. Maybe we should go with Jackson. I dunno, I do remember the same thing being said by alot of us two years ago about him.

I’ve always liked him. I’m one of the few.

      WTF,

Your old pal Fragile has always like TJack. Freds just doesn’t think he’s a good QB.

All kidding aside, TJack is a backup. He’d be fine for a few games here and there. But to trust him playing 3 or 4 playoff teams in a row and being able to execute succesfully against good teams, making good decisions, he’s shown no signs of this yet in his career.

When a starter sucks up the join as ours has, suddenly the short comings of the back up disappear. BUT if Banjo is hurt, I don’t think we have a choice but to move forward with the back up.

Dang it, I was really hoping for a huge dose of crow on this one. I will predict a Vikes win over Cowgirls tho. And wtf what is it you see in tjax that virtually nobody else see’s?
