Vikings Aren’t Out Yet

Plenty of media outlets, fans, analysts, and maybe even some players are counting the Vikings out of the playoff hunt.  There are plenty of negative aspects of the 27-13 loss that sent the Vikings to a 3-6 record to discuss at length, and I plan to partake shortly.

However, facts are facts.

And the fact is that the every NFC team has to play seven more regular season games and only one of them is ahead of the Vikings by more than three games.

There are plenty of reasons to believe that this team doesn’t have what it takes to rally themselves into the postseason, but there are plenty of reasons to believe that they do have what it takes (like their $150 million payroll), and unless or until the Vikings lose to the Packers next week, there still is some hope.

Reasons why they can make the playoffs – Sidney Rice coming back, Still have Adrian Peterson, still have Percy Harvin, Our QB, Easy schedule last 7 games compared to season starting schedule, NFC is weak

Reasons why we cant make playoffs – Coach is an idiot, Oline sucks, Dline is absent this year, secondary sucks(minus Winfield), Our QB, maybe dug ourselves in too deep of a hole

ok, if we drink the kool-aid, what about that fat lady in the wings warming up her voice?

Cals, that fat lady is on her second alblum already. As Dandy Don used to sing, “turn out the lights the party’s over”

I think we do have a chance to make the playoffs but with childress at HC we just won’t. We all have to be on the same page and this isn’t last yr where we won just on having to much talent on the field and most part we were pretty much healthy. The cowboys looked like a new team with Wade gone and I think that’s wat type of spark we really need. If not that negative aura leading our ship will keep holding us back from being a TEAM..

A win against the Packer next week would put Viking back into it.

Viking have the talent to compete in the Division. However, they have to get their game together when they go on the road.

That lady has been singing for weeks, we are just refusing to listen. There has been no reason for optimism this season. Week after week we as fans say this is the game that will define the Vikings as a team. Are they true contenders or not? Time after time they fail. Then a few days after bemoaning that weeks loss we start saying, “If we win this week we can be right back in the race.”
We just can’t face the music. Even with all of the individual stars, we are not a good team. The teams that we have beaten this season all have losing records. Only two teams on the remaining schedule are sub .500. Our chances of beating quality opponents are very slim when we are; last in the NFL in turnovers, and in the bottom third in number of penalties. Also it seems as if we are letting the opposition convert nearly at will on third down.
Oh yeah, that fat lady is singing we just need to listen.

This season was fated to be a joke WAY back before the draft. They sold their soul to Her Majesty Brett – The High Queen of Drama & Self Gratification, they (and Rice) totally blew it by not doing the surgery right away in the off season, they didn’t even bother to draft a quality QB (not counting Webb as he’s still a big unknown), they let Chester fly away because of a few dollars (then gave Drama Queen an extra few million along with a big begging party go puff up his ego), they’ve got the worst safeties in football (at pretty much any level) and they continue to carry the wanna be (C)Rap star McKinnie who does a great impression as a revolving door and the whole O-Line can’t run block worth a single damn.

Why is any one surprised buy the outcome of this year so far?

I’m not even going to mention the absolutely useless balding moron who is pretending to be a coach.

I’ve always been a fan and always will be one but this year is a complete embarrassment and I really hope they lose out the rest of the year so we can at least get a good draft pick.

    Skol Vikings!

    Fire Childress and Fav-re!!!!

what are next years college qb prospects like? Is it considered a good class? I would like to see what we have in joe webb at some point this season but drafting a qb in the first round next year would be nice..

  9. [...] as I mentioned, the Vikings are not mathematically eliminated and could still even go 10-6 for the season, there [...]
