Herschel Walker Would Be Much, Much, Much Cheaper This Time Around

Remember all those jokes we made when Jeff George said he wanted to be a quarterback of the Vikings each of the last two offseasons?  Well, here’s one that is an even bigger head scratcher.

Herschel Walker, at the ripe age of 48, claims that he is considering an NFL comeback.

“I’ve told everyone that at 50 I might try football again to show people I can do that,” Walker said on Monday. “I want to be the George Foreman of football, come back and do that one more time.”

The two teams I would come back to play for are Minnesota or Atlanta,” Walker said. “It would probably be Atlanta because that’s home for me.  I’m a Georgia boy. That’s just home.”

“I know I can play,” Walker said. “If I continue to stay in the shape I’m in now, I know I can play when I’m 50. Right now, if you asked if I can play today, there’s absolutely no doubt in my mind I can play football today, that I can help out a team today.

“I 100 percent guarantee you I can help a football team out,” Walker continued.

Walker also said that as recently as last February he ran the 40 yard dash in 4.38 seconds.

“I haven’t been doing my track work, but I think if I get back into my track work and the way I run, I can still run pretty well,” he said.

Of course, I wouldn’t take this recent comeback talk too seriously.  The media tour reeks of attention seeking publicity which makes sense considering Walker’s second ever MMA fight (he won the first one) is scheduled for January 29th.

Has anyone told Musgrave that Herschel runs best from two different formations….the ‘I’ and the ‘me’

“A 100% guarantee” Wonder what that looks like in writing, with all the details and such. Is that like “can’t miss” and “sure thing”? If he guarantees being as good as when he left the game, well…

He claims he can still run a 4.35 40 bring him in as punt and kick returner. Since stupid chilly traded the vikings returner away.

  4. LeCount80 says:

    Let Harvin return ALL kicks…..

The only way Walker comes back here is if his contract requires him to repay all the money he stole from the Vikings so many years ago.

    I’m with WTF…

Viking need a new kick returner requiring 4.4 speed.

Heschel’s our guy. Or Herschel’s other guy who looks just like him. Whatever. Tell Herschel he can bring them all in and we’ll sort it out before kick-off.
