Posted in Earlier today, we mentioned that Charley Walters wrote that Ryan Longwell “re-signed for next season for $2 million.”
At the time of my post, I noted that nobody else on the net was reporting this news which was strangely buried in one of his random posts. Since Walters has a sketchy reputation as, you know, being factually correct, I was worried about the accuracy of the report.
Tonight, there is still nobody else reporting that Longwell has re-signed with the Vikings, nor has anything shown up on NFL.com’s transaction report.
Judd Zulgad of Access Vikings was asked about Longwell’s status on Twitter and he wrote, “Nope on Longwell. He is not signed for 2011.”
So, there you have it. Ryan Longwell may or may not have signed a $2 million contract to stay with the team next season.
