Frazier Talks About Conversation With Griffen

On Thursday, Rick Spielman made us aware of a recent conversation between Leslie Frazier and Everson Griffen.  Griffen, of course, was arrested twice in three days this offseason which could not have sat well with his employers.

On Friday, speaking to the media in Indy, Frazier gave some details on that conversation.

“I had to just talk about a few things and just remind him what was  important to us and as an organization and football team,” Frazier said. “[I’ve] got my fingers crossed and hopefully won’t see his name in the newspapers  other than for what happens this fall when he gets a sack, an  interception or a fumble recovery or something like that.”

“You don’t want to see your players names in the papers for negative situations. So anytime it happens, it becomes a concern. Hopefully for us, that’s something that’s behind us. Hopefully.”

I hope it works out the way Frasier plans but I have my doubts this kid was a risk and now we are seeing why he fell so far last year in the draft. I am for giving him a chance but if he f’s it up then we need to dump him.

i made a response today that pft wouldn’t allow on their pig facist site that kinda applies here, and i just want to show what they’re about. it was in response to vick getting a hero award:

If you’re a black organization why not honor a better example instead of Vick? Lots of blacks go to prison, get out, and are then unemployable for life. Vick had money for lawyers, and money behind him through the NFL and commercial interests, so he has had lots of advantages.

This is a criminal-gang lifestyle being condoned and celebrated, and that’s just wrong. What makes it worse is, it’s being encouraged by elitists trying to exploit Vick just to make more money, and furthered by all of us who buy the beer, chips, jerseys and all the other crap that the advertisers sell via the NFL and sports.

Just remember who owns this country, it’s not us, it’s the big money interests and we all fall for it and feed it every time we give them our money. That’s all they care about, nothing else, just money, so this isn’t a race or religious issue, but our owners, the corporations and super rich that own everything and shove all their crap down our throats, are more than happy that some of us think that, it’s better for them that the truth is diverted away from them.

Lots of topics Cal, deep and complex for sure. We might need the sharp mind of Coach Bud Grant to help sort through some of these issues.

    • CalVkg says:

yup, fred, and then we’ll send him over to the middle east to straighten them out, too. we might hafta send dugan with him, though

    • B. Grant says:

Well… if we just stick to catchin’ fish, shooting ducks, and training dogs, I think we’ll be OK. Now I realize that Lund and Johnson and Remington and Garcia are in this for the money, too, but at least we get to hold a bass in the air or kneel next to a 12 pointer, hey guys?

I see what you’re sayin’, Cal, but as far a fixin’ it…? Football is a great sport, but the business side – not so much. Let’s face it, we need more guys in flannel shirts and less guys in ties.

Why wasn’t Webb at last year’s Combine??

Joe Webb also posted 11-5 1/2 in the broad jump, compared to the top combine effort of 11-0 by Virginia cornerback Chris Cook. (both Vikes )

Webb’s shuttle time was 3.91. The best at the combine was 4.03 registered by Michigan State WR Blair White.

Webb benched 225 21 times, better than any other WR at the combine.

Webb’s vertical jump was 42 1/2 inches. The best WR at the combine was Louisville’s Scott Long at 41 1/2 inches . Dorin Dickerson had the best overall vert. at 43 1/2 inches.

Pretty good considering he is 6-4 225.

yea is he some athlethe no doubt about it, but he wasn’t an established WR and therefore he wasn’t invited.. alot of other receivers had better stats that him.. how do you guys like the QB so far?
I’ve think Mallet looked really great, also kapernick (sorry if spelt wrong) – I also really like the interview on the field by mallet, and the way he went around with the others qbs.
