According to Judd Zulgad of the Star Tribune, several Vikings players are present at the IMG Camp in Bradenton, FL. They will begin doing on-the-field work around 2PM central time.
As we all knew before, Vikings rookie QB Christian Ponder is the one who organized these player workouts for the Vikings. It was his plan to have as many Vikings as possible go down to Florida to practice around this time. Eleven players are expected to be in attendance; QBs Christian Ponder, Joe Webb, and Rhett Bomar, WRs Greg Camarillo, Emmanuel Arceneaux, Sidney Rice, Jaymar Johnson, and Percy Harvin, RB Lorenzo Booker, and TEs Visanthe Shiancoe and Kyle Rudolph.
A twelfth player is now expected to be in attendance. NFL Network reporter Scott Hanson tweeted WR Bernard Berrian is expected to make the trip down to Bradenton as well.

Tell Bernard not to bother
Yea I would rather have Stephen Burton or.. yea just anybody else :p
Nice to see Percy and Shiancoe there. Despite Shiancoe’s lackluster performance last season, he is truly a stand-up player and a guy I’m glad to have as a Viking.
I’m also secretly hoping that Jaymar Johnson can pull off a miracle offseason. Last year was supposed to be his breakout season, according to Larry Fitzgerald, who trained him. It would be nice to get a deep threat receiver from our own backyard. Speaking of which… move Joe Webb back to receiver please!
It would be nice if AP would show up to these. It would also be nice if our defensive guys got together. Jared Allen is notorious for not doing jack during the offseason, and I fear that no summer workouts will mean his typically slow starting season will have an even slower start than last year.
Rookie Center Brandon Fusco is at IMG with the group also
Yup just saw that. Thanks! Camarillo just gave him the nickname “Big Fuss”. haha.
Nice
This is starting to look like we might get a younger and fresher team this year
Why don’t they get some defensive players down there as well? I’ve that Mistrall Raymond also was willing to paticipate, then perhaps get Chris Cook, Cedric Griffen, brandon burton and perhaps a couple of safties and some linebackers so they can do some 7-7 work
Jaymar Johnson has decided to continue work with Larry Fitz so Wont be attending workout in FL
could be much worse.. remember that Sidney Rice came out with a great season after working out with Larry?
Malte I’m a big believer in Larry’s camp esp. after seeing what it did for Sidney, ill actually have an article about Jaymar coming out later tonight or early morning. Also looks like Ponder, Webb, Bomar, Arceneaux, Rudolph, Fusco and Camarillo only players on first day while Rice, Harvin and other vets expected tomorrow according to Judd Zulgad. As for your defensive players question Malte it looks like Mistral Raymond will be joining the group sometime this week. Players such as Steve Hutch, EJ Henderson, Leber, Greenway, Sullivan all have been working out in Minnesota this offseason and I’m guessing have chosen to stay working out there. I’ll see if I can get more info about it.
I’m also a big believer of the camp, it was a mistake that i made the question mark after my statement.. Larry fitzgerald is one of the hardest working guys, and once of the best off the field too. thanks for keeping us updated about the vikings offseason workout
– I actually think it’s okay that it’s not the entire minnesota vikings working out together cause I think that is more helpfull to receivers & QB + DB than it is for the O-line men and D-line men when coaches aren’t around
Yeah Brandon Fusco! Get in the mix, get some snaps with Ponder, and get Sullivan the hell out of there!
I’m glad Ponder got a copy of the playbook during the brief lockout lift.
Expect Bryant McKinnie to show up on Friday afternoon once he loses that fifth pound.
I have perhaps never read a comment more marinated in sarcasm than that one, Lost. Nice.
If our d-backs show up, at least it will give the receivers and qb’s confidence. They will make the receivers look like pro-bowlers.
UPDATE: Harvin, Rice, Shiancoe and Berrian didn’t show up today either.. unfortunately..
