Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that free agent wide receiver Plaxico Burress is not on the Vikings’ radar screen.
Burress, who turns 34 in August, was released from upstate New York prison on Monday and is expected to resume an NFL career that has included 505 receptions for 7,845 yards and 55 touchdowns in stints with the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants from 2000-08.
Burress helped the Giants to win over the New England Patriots in Super XLII, catching a 13-yard touchdown pass from Eli Manning with 35 seconds remaining.
The Vikings have Percy Harvin, Bernard Berrian, and Greg Camarillo under contract for next season. However, 2009 Pro Bowler Sidney Rice’s status is up in the air. If the league and players reach a new collective bargaining agreement, the former second-round pick out of South Carolina could hit unrestricted free agency.
Rice and Burress are both represented by Drew Rosenhaus.

Didnt figure Denzel would be interested in this dude. Cant wait for Rosenhaus’s comments about him, should be laughable.
Looks like Denzel is serious about this character thing, eh johnny. Wonder what he was quietly thinking when Randy Moss sauntered into the room the first day last year. “This doesn’t happen on my watch… no way.”
Coach I think Moss would have acted alot better if Denzel was the HC. Moss had 0 respect for Childo and as we know it sure showed.
You could be right about that, johnny.
But, probably not.
Oh, quit being so surly, Fragile man.
Sign Sidney and we don’t need/want Plax
He’s turning 34, hasn’t played a down in 2 years which translates to let someone else take the risk.
Sorry to hear this-

Never saw him play, but I think he was part of the original Purple People Eaters. RIP Paul.
I saw that CC and I have to say I’ve never heard of him. Hopefully Coach will chime in and tell us about him.
Good football player and a great man. He got the Vikes up and going in the early years, not an Alan Page or anything, but he held his ground and gave us solid play at DT. He was one of those guys where, in his later years, you wondered if he would weather the final cut. Seemed to always be that when it came time for cuts, Paul was just too much of a player to let him go. He was reliable, you knew what he could, and would, do game in and game out.
Paul sounds like the perfect team player…
That he was, PC. And an original Viking. I’m gonna say he lasted longer than all the originals except for Marshall, Sharockman and Alderman. Not sure but those are the only ones I can think of. Oh, and then Francis after he returned from NY.
Thanks for the info Coach and I echo Charlies reply. And if I may ask, what happened to him? God rest his soul.
