Rice’s Demand Might Not Be So High

Just like any group of homers, some of us Vikings fans love to place more value on our favorite Vikings players than what other teams around the league do.

According to a recent tweet from Tom Pelissero of 1500ESPN, that might just be the case when it comes to Sidney Rice, who will likely become an unrestricted free agent after a new Collective Bargaining Agreement is in place.

“Based on my sources, Rice will be hard-pressed to get a big guarantee,” read the tweet, “and Vikings are willing to compete with incentives/escalators.”

It isn’t overly surprising that some teams might shy away from Rice since he has lacked consistency, had a major hip surgery, and generally struggled to stay healthy over his career thus far.

Still, it is hard to imagine that at least one team out there isn’t going to pony up some extra cash for a young, talented, semi-proven game changer like Rice.

I think a few teams will make a play for him, to what degree I don’t know. The Bears need a solid reciever and would probably like to get Sidney off our roster.

Oh really? Well Mr. Pellisino, that’s for that twit, but it couldn’t be more wrong. Your unnamed, double secret, closed door “sources” are bunk. In fact, your old Pal Fragile Freds has video proof that your mom, Freds means your source is crazy.

Here is video proof of Sid and that dirty grease ball agent of his, planning a strategy meeting. Does this look like they might be willing to settle for less?
