Well, there goes that. According to @stutChargers (San Diego Charger news and headlines on Twitter), FS Eric Weddle has re-signed with the Chargers. The Vikings were talking with Weddle’s agent yesterday, but no offer was extended to Weddle from the Vikings. It will be interesting to see if the Vikings continue to pursue safeties in this free agency class.

poop.
There are still safeties out there. It’s just a matter of whether or not the Vikings are interested. I personally would like to see us go after Jarrad Page.
I think as crazy as this may sound it could work..go after Cromartie and put Winfield at safety..thoughts?
Perfect idea…I was having the same thought. Instant impact on our pass defense.
This bugs me. Not so much because I wanted Weddle in particular, but because I was excited about the prospect of never having to see Madieu Williams in purple again.
I understand that we’re broke and can’t make a big free agency splash, but if I have to sit through one more season watching Madieu Williams ruin everything, I’m going to snap.
Frazier might want to keep him, but he knows that Madieu will lose the starting job in camp. If he was truly a stud incumbent starter, I don’t think they’d consider renegotiating his contract.
We all know that the guy needs to be cut, so let’s just get it over with.
Weddle off market: The San Diego Chargers have agreed to terms with Eric Weddle, meaning the safety will return to the Chargers after exploring the market on Tuesday. Weddle’s agent, David Canter, had discussions with the Vikings but they were believed to be casual and Canter tweeted today that Weddle is now the highest-paid safety in NFL history.
vikes prolly couldn’t afford him
whew! must be nice to have the bucks! to get big dough from the chargers isn’t easy, either
DeAngelo Williams got $21 million guaranteed?
better hurry and re-sign AP, prices are going UP!
Carolina’s throwin’ money around like B Mac in a strip club.
now this is fun! remember the lockout of 2011? seems like just yesterday…
Holy frijoles…you see this (from PFT)? They gonna have anything left for Cam?
“After spending plenty of cash on a couple of their own free agents, the Panthers have attracted someone from another team.
Per a league source, veteran kicker Olindo Mare will sign with the Panthers.
The deal, according to the source, is worth $12 million over four years, with a whopping $4 million signing bonus.
For a kicker.”

NEWS: I’ve read on espn 1500 that Derrick Locke didn’t sign with the Vikings
I never got my hopes up on Weddle ~ He was out of the Vikings pay scale because of their lack of cap space ~ It would have been nice though ~
