Hard Feelings Have Set Back McNabb Talks

As the Vikings try to transition from Wrangler Jeans to Campbell’s Chunky Soup, there seems to be problem.

According to multiple reports, Donovan McNabb is upset that the reports surrounding the Vikings free agency hunts would suggest that they had more interest in Tyler Thigpen than they did in him.  He is also not thrilled about the reports that he will be expected to take a dramatic pay cut.

In full, McNabb isn’t thrilled with how the Vikings have handled this situation thus far.

According to my report, McNabb isn’t in a position to bargain. Either he accepts our terms, or he gets cut and comes to play for us anyways.

Not thrilled about the situation? It’s the second day of this hellstorm free agency and he actually has the nerve to whine about the way we handled this? Go cry in some Chunky soup.

The main reason I want McNabb is because I think it will give us some more pull to retain Rice.

If in fact Denzel keeps to his stated philosophy that he wants to obtain a veteran to allow for a transition of sorts to Ponder, this is going to get ugly. Don has an inflated sense of himself and will not make this process easy.

This Richard has made life difficult in the locker room at various times in Philly and Washington in the last 3-4 years. He still thinks he is the quality of Brady or Manning (he stated this last year). If one thinks they are of this quality, will they easily settle into a veteran back up roll? Freds thinks not.

Don has shown the ability to win some games, no doubt about that. He has also shown the ability to roll up and quit when the going gets tough around playoff time. Don loves Don. This guy is all sizzle and no steak.

This is not the kind of guy Ponder will learn a lot from, they are very different QB styles.

If Denzel has changed his philosophy to Chilly’s “all in” philosophy, it will be a year that Ponder sits and Don is the man. Could be interesting.

Freds hates it. But really glad football is back.

I’m impressed with your recovery, Freds. I was sure we would see at least one more rant. I agree – this will all come down to Donovan’s state of mind, and right now its not what I would like to see it be for this to work. I understand the thinking behind this IF everyone is accepting of their roles and expectations.

I’m gonna trust that Denzel knows DMac better than you or I, Freds, but we’ll see. (Remember, I origninally trusted Chili’s assessment of TJack too.)

Looks like somebody’s McMomma needs to take their son by the ear, sit him down and tell him to get over himself! If he wants to play football, then he just needs to deal with the hand that is dealt and do his job. There are plenty of people out here without jobs, and some of these guys are just a bunch of cry babies.

Just finished reading Tony Dungy’s new book, Mentor Leader. Would recommend this to Mr. McNabb, coaches, team captains, etc.. Coach Dungy tells it plain and simple what it’s all about……

Arizona Cardinals star Larry Fitzgerald said on Wednesday he has spoken with Donovan McNabb about a tentative trade to the Minnesota Vikings and believes it’s a good fit for the 34-year-old quarterback.

  6. Lost Viking says:

That’s a great video. Fitzgerald displays impressive knowledge of Viking offense.

Leaves the impression the McNabb to Minnesota deal had been made months back. The day FA opens the Viking are pursuing Thigpen and questioning salary.

The other question is if Rice is coming back who will be leaving besides Berrian and Madieu?

I could care less if McNabb like whats going on or not ~ Just go with one of the young guys and lets get this rebuilding started so it can be over with sooner ~ I wonder if Gus would come back for one season ~ LOL ~ J\K about Gus ~ There are other vet. QB’s out there ~ McNabb isn’t the end of the world ~ In fact I would start Webb over him and most likely Ponder as well ~

I hope the Vikings move on and dont tie their cap up on a QB who has lost his starting job with his last 2 team in the last 2 year ~

Lets take a poll on how many games it will be before the boo-birds come out and McNabb gets benched.

    A. 2 games
    B. 4 games
    C. 6 games
    D. Wont get benched

    • CalVkg says:

      can’t vote, johnny

you don’t have a choice for ‘1 game’, or ‘1 quarter’

      • bigjohnny84 says:

Haha sorry Cal I ass/u/med he would make it through the first game. But as Coach said earlier the first “lookout” block by McKinnie could land him in intensive care which is likely to happen in the first quarter.

  9. Lost Viking says:

We had another ex-Iggle QB here who supposedly showed up with bad attitude.

Didn’t take long for us to change the initial impression.
Feeling as if the fans and organization didn’t fully appreciate his contributions to the Eagle success, as well as being unhappy with his role as a back-up, Cunningham retired from football after the 1995 season.Cunningham enjoyed the greatest season of his career in Minnesota during the 1998 campaign when he guided the Vikings to a 15–1 regular season record with 34 touchdown passes and only 10 interceptions

For a good time Phillie fan goes to the airport to boo safe landings.
Minnie fan more appreciative of good football.
