Vikings Add DT Colby Whitlock

A training camp move:

Vikings have added DT Colby Whitlock from Texas Tech and release WR Ryan Lincoln.

Vikings were short on WR until Thursday’s practice when Jenkins, Aromashodu, and Berrian were able to practice. Vikings released a WR and added another camp body to the d-line.

    Viking short at WR:

Larry Fitzgerald Sr. had this to say when asked about the possibility, via SportsRadioInterviews.com: “No. The Viking are clearing cap space I have heard that but Larry has to make that decision. This is his life and he has always wanted to be a Viking because he is a Viking. He was a ball boy and that type of thing. He loves playing in Arizona, he’s valued in that community, and he’s a Cardinal.”

So what would it take for Larry Jr. to be a Viking? “[T]he Cardinal would have to fall on their face,” Larry Sr. said.

One of the hosts then said that connecting the dots takes Larry Jr. back to Minnesota. “Well yeah he always wanted to be a Viking growing up. He got drafted by a Viking. Dennis Green left Minnesota and went to Arizona.”

Moving forward, Cardinal should make their best offer to Fitzgerald sooner rather than later, especially with more than $14 million in cap room as of Thursday. If they can’t work it out with Larry Jr., then they should trade him to Minnesota now and get something in return. We know it sounds far-fetched, but when Larry Sr. points out the “Viking are clearing cap space,” it sounds like something could possibly happen before 2012

Sure, and after that Brady will sign on as the Vikes new QB. With Manning as his backup.

No way the Cards let him go. I would be beyond shocked.

    • B. Grant says:

      hmmmmm…

      very shocked?
      really shocked?
      hyper-shocked
      fully charged?
      electrocuted?

      • Tomb... says:

Well, let’s qualify this. As shocked as I’d be if:

Smooter fully dedicated himself to a tackle, or

You dropped a pun that was funny, or

If I watched a baseball game and was even mildly amused, or

Childress had a presser and didn’t say anything weird or confusing, or

Berrian had no drops in an entire game THAT HE PLAYED IN, or

Adam took a picture with his kid and didn’t feel compelled to strike a sex kitten pose

        or…?

  3. Tomb... says:

Is Jared back in form this year? Would be nice.

4:13 JuddZulgad: Jared Allen is unstopable so far. He just schooled rookie LT DeMarcus Love. Allen made Charlie Johnson’s day miserable Thursday.

  4. Fragile Freds says:

343 pounds! Dang, that is alot of cheese dogs.

Freds hopes Don can still run, dude is going to need some wheels to survive behind that dog ass offensive line.

  5. Tomb... says:

Dare I say, a glimmer of hope?

5:08 TomPelissero: Give Charlie Johnson credit. He’s at least competing with Allen today.

  6. Lost Viking says:

Cardinal and Bidwell owners are one sorry bunch. Don’t put it past them to screw things up w/ Fitz. Cheapass organization.

I’d pick the Wilf straight up agin’ those Bidwell boys anytime. Whoopass!

  7. Purple Charlie says:

    Not planing on getting Larry…
Man, That would be Awesome to say the least!

  8. CalVkg says:

off topic, but man this sucks. s&p downgraded the US credit rating tonight

they had signaled this was gonna happen, but it’s still a big deal and will effect all of us, including the vikings and the chances of getting a stadium deal done
