What a joke. I hope it’s not like they predict… Jon and I are going to the game in San Diego.

No one has mentioned the Ryan Mathews / Toby Gerhart connection. Or, maybe they don’t consider worth mentioning Gerhardt in the same conversation with Mathews; the 1st RB picked in the 2009 draft.

Mathews picked #12. Gerhart picked at #51 has this year to show he’s fully integrated and contributor to Viking offense. Could be a big game for him in SD.

I also love how they didn’t mention last time we played the Chargers, AP ran wild for 296 yards…

    Peterson: I’ll have a 300-yard game

Fantasy owners are drooling at the thought of starting Adrian Peterson if he ever fulfills his new NFL goal. Minnesota Vikings’ running back, Adrian “All Day” Peterson, may already have the record for the most rushing yards in a single game with 296 against the San Diego Chargers in 2007, but he believes the magical number is 300.

Peterson told the Associated Press on Thursday that he intends to break the 296-yard rushing game record one day by running for 300 yards. After telling the AP that “(he) will” be the first player to top the 300 yard mark, he pointed out some mistakes he made in the 2007 game that, if he corrected, would make 300 rushing yards in a single game plausible.

“When I look back, I missed some opportunities in the first half, but that’s what it’s all about. Sometimes you start fast and finish strong,” Peterson said Thursday. “It’s all about making the adjustments at halftime and I felt like we made some good adjustments and came out, stayed true to it and continued to pound up front, pound up front.”

Somewhere former Baltimore Ravens’ running back, and single game rushing record holder, Jamal Lewis is about to be quoted saying he will make a comeback and run for 310 yards in one game.

As long as Adrian Peterson remains healthy this year, each game this year the Vikings’ strategy will be to give “All Day” 30 carries a game. Which was the reason in the first place that Adrian Peterson was the consensus first overall fantasy pick for this season.

One thing that will make Peterson owners optimistic that he could run for 300 yards in one game this year. His goal last offseason was to cut down on his fumbling problems in recent years, 9 and 7 fumbles, was accomplished when he only fumbled the ball once in 283 carries.
