Vikings Activate DT Kevin Williams

The Vikings have activated their star DT Kevin Williams after he served a two game suspension to start the year. To make room for Williams, the Vikings have waived DE Adrian Awasom.

Mild surprise the Vikings waived Awasom but he was deactivated last Sunday against TB due to knee swelling.

You thought you were the only one doing the yelping…?

DT Kevin Williams said his left foot “feels good,” His conditioning level will be fine and will not miss a game because of the plantar fasciitis that caused him to miss a preseason game and a week of preseason practices.

“I’m definitely going to play,” Williams said. “Sitting at home for two weeks was bad enough. My foot isn’t going to stop me.”

He said he stayed in town and watched the Viking from his home in the Twin Cities. “I was here on the couch, yelling at the screen,”

Kind of surprised about the Awasom wave. I guessed it’d be D’Aundre Reed, but methinks coaches see a high ceiling for him.

  3. Lost Viking says:

Plus they probably don’t want to give up on a draft choice w/ Reed.

Probably the plan all along to carry one extra D lineman into 3rd game of season. Viking have greatest depth at both DT and DE. Haven’t missed Ray Edwards, Jimmy Kennedy or a slowing Pat Williams.
