Have posted the Handle prediction on Lion-Vike under the Preview. Here’s a couple of his bonus picks:

SAN DIEGO –14½ over Kansas City

You could lay 28 points in this one and still feel pretty good about it. This is like Wisconsin v South Dakota. How desperate are the Chief? Last week in Detroit, they were down 17-3 seconds before the half and that clever Todd Haley tried to ice the always-reliable veteran kicker Jason Hanson on a 28-yard field goal. Yeah Todd, you really piled on the pressure there. Hanson had to be sweating bullets over a 28-yarder in the middle of a blowout. We’re still trying to figure out how that didn’t work.

Chief have a coach they can’t stand, no QB, no RB’s, no playmakers and no defense. Charger have a horrible history of poor starts recently and this year is no different after a tough opener against Minnesota, a team they were supposed to whack and a loss last week in New England. They’re in no position to take anyone lightly and it sure doesn’t hurt that the Chief are one of their rivals. Last season the Charger opened the year in KC on a Monday night and lost. The rematch in San Diego resulted in a 31-0 pasting by the host and this one has that same feel. Charger are loaded with nothing but talent and explosive players. There is no way the shorthanded Chief can match them in terms of anything. Chief have been outscored 89-10 in two games so let’s call this final 89-10. Play: San Diego –14½

    Packer (2-0) at Bear (1-1)

Chicago QB Jay Cutler may get hit like a piñata in this one but still prefer home-town Bear against their arch-rivals. Packer were fortunate to defeat Saint in opener and had to work harder than expected to take down Panther. Spirited matchup should remain close.

    TAKING: BEAR +3½

Lost is off on a bit of a rant surrounding the weekly NFL Expert Picks.

Viking have won 13 straight at home against Lion. Thirteen wins – zero losses. Experts unanimous pick is Lion over Viking. Loser Lion are now NFL Elite.

OK, so maybe Viking are playing poorly with significant injuries. No. Viking are playing well but losing in second half to respectable teams. This week they are getting a dominant player back into lineup. No significant injuries to report.

Still, its unanimous. Lion will walk into Minnesota and win. Well, not exactly unanimous. Las Vegas have Lion as 3 1/2 point fave. Not exactly a rousing endorsement of Team Stafford&Schwartz. But its unanimous at ESPN.

Maybe there’s a reason the ESPN people don’t favor the Viking. Perhaps it is due to tyranny around the flavor of the month. But ask yourself what have Lion done exactly to become the “accepted common wisdom” and pick-of- the-week honor? No ESPN guy seems to question the strength behind the 48-3 blowout – even if it was the lowly Chief, for chrissake.

Guess this is why we just have to let them play the game. We’ve got StarTrib scribblers and ESPN Experts and national media fawning all over this Lion club. They all sound to be a lot like NASA rocket scientists. Except NASA rocket scientists can’t predict where the satellite could land. How could they know its not like they’re rocket scient…..Oh nevermind.

Guess we’ll just have to let them play the game. Thirteen straight wins. Thirteen wins and counting.

    Go Vike.

I say put the young guys in there….let’em play….the old guys are fizzlin’ out at half time….anybody not playing 100%…pull’em! Dagburnit, if you’re gonna lose, go down fighting!

      That’s my two cents….
