WR Percy Harvin Fined $7,500 For Issues With Panthers Captain Munnerlyn

Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin has been fined $7,500 by the NFL for his disagreement last weekend with Carolina’s Captain Munnerlyn according to Dan Wiederer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

The punishment stems from a tussle that occurred in the second quarter of the Vikings’ 24-21 win. Following a 5-yard Christian Ponder scramble, Harvin became entangled with Munnerlyn. And as the two drifted onto the Panthers sideline, Harvin grabbed Munnerlyn by the facemask and forced him into the Carolina bench.

Harvin received a 15-yard personal foul penalty on the play. And, according to an NFL spokesman, because he grabbed Munnerlyn’s facemask, a fine has been levied as well. For the record, Munnerlyn did not receive a penalty or a fine for the incident, prompting Harvin to tweet: “Can someone please explain how I get fined and the other player gets nothn..wow.”

It really wasn’t fair that that Percy was flagged and Munnerlyn wasn’t,if you watch the replay Captain was giving Harvin the business even after he was out of bounds. Percy is one tough dude, look like he was ready to take on the entire Panther side line. Mr. Wilf should give Harvin a check for 7,500 bucks for standing up for himself. I wish other players on the Viking roster would show some fire this year.
