Shiancoe Says Some Vikings Quit Vs Saints

The season of disaster continues to get worse, and now TE Visanthe Shiancoe says there’s no doubt that some of the players simply quit on Sunday during their latest loss to the Saints.

Immediately following an embarrassing 42-20 loss to New Orleans on Sunday, many Minnesota Vikings seemed reluctant to admit the team showed a lack of fight in their 12th loss this season. On Monday, tight end Visanthe Shiancoe had enough distance from the defeat to speak candidly. “You could see some guys hung it up,” Shiancoe said. “Not a lot though. Like a very small handful of guys.” Shiancoe visited with reporters for 10 minutes in the locker room and was far more gregarious than angry. But he did acknowledge the deflation that set in during Sunday’s loss and expressed his discontent with teammates who seemed to cave under the weight of another failure. “Ain’t no games around here, man,” Shiancoe said. “We’re grown men around here. Can’t see nobody slacking off, especially when you (yourself) give all your effort. That’s not right. And that’s not going to be accepted.”

I thought the same exact thing myself, at least he has the guts to admit it…

I love Shank! He is never afraid to speak his mind!!! I wish more of the leaders of the team would go behind closed doors and knock some sense into people!!

it was obvious who stopped playing. No matter how bad things get during a game, you are paid to do your job!!!!

It’s tough enough to win game in this league, but when you have certain players not playing with full out effort like the Vikings have had this season as many Viking fans have suspected and now being confirmed by one of the players on the team. This team needs to have a players only meeting and lock the doors and let the fist fly. My money would be on Adrian Peterson, Jared Allen, and Percy Harvin, Visanthe Shiancoe kicking the crap out of everybody in there. I know that sounds crazy, but it is the only way this team will start trusting in each other.
