Posted in Jeremy Fowler of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports the Vikings have requested an interview with Jaguars defensive coordinator Mel Tucker, according to a person with direct knowledge of the situation.
Tucker is likely a candidate to replace Fred Pagac as defensive coordinator. The Vikings would like to keep Pagac in some capacity, possibly as linebackers coach, but it’s unclear whether Pagac is interested.
Last week, the Vikings interviewed former Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Raheem Morris, and former St. Louis Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo could be in play because of his relationship with coach Leslie Frazier. The two were assistants together in Philadelphia under Andy Reid.

After such a rough season and negative season, I am going to stay positive and excited about the 2012 season. Changes need to be made and regardless of what we think or say its going to happen. So lets all hope for the best and maybe positive thinking will bring about positive things for the Vikings!
Raheem Morris is now a Redskins DB Coach.
Steve Spagnulol is most likely going to Philadelphia.
The only candidates left are Mel Tucker and Mike Singeltary.
If the Vikings want Mel Tucker they need to act fast because he he is going to talk to the jags about their DC position.
The only other person is Mike Singeltary(God No).
The Vikings need to do something right and hire Mel Tucker and NOT let him slip away.
There are several DC candidates that are still playing in the playoffs that the Vikings aren’t allowed to talk to (or about) yet.
I’m sure a new list of names will appear as more teams get eliminated.
No need to panic.
At this point I’m pulling for Mel Tucker but my gut tells me it going to be Frazier’s long time buddy Mike Singletary who has never been a DC ~

@ TomPelissero At presser, Mularkey said he plans on speaking w/ Mel Tucker tomorrow. Doesn’t sound like he’s signing w/ Vikes.
