Vikes Interested in CB Routt?

ESPN Dallas has reported the Vikings, Cowboys and Chiefs have inquired about Cornerback Stanford Routt who was released by the Raiders yesterday and he also has visits set up with the Bills and Titans according to Routts agent.

Routt is 28 years old and signed a 5 year, 54.5 million dollar deal last year but fell as a cap casualty this year. He has played in 110 games while he has recorded 10 interceptions and 50 passes defended during that time. Routt is free to sign anywhere and doesn’t need to wait for free agency to start on March 13.

It’s not a surprise the Vikings are interested with the way the secondary played last year and I’m sure Routt isn’t the only cornerback the Vikings will look into this off-season.

Only way I feel like Routt would want to come to Minnesota would be by the Vikings outbidding every other team. He is not worth that kind of money, and Vikings could better employ that money by acquiring a wide receiver, or believe it or not MLB. Hopefully this report is fanciful

Agree with RandyRatio ~ Only if the price is right does he sign with the Vikings ~ Trouble is the Vikings dont have that kind of money to spend based on the cap report just above this trend ~
