The NFL Scouting Combine starts Wednesday where teams get a closer look at players entering the 2012 NFL draft. In case anyone is interested, below you will find the schedule of activities for all position groups over the next week. NFL Network will be live from the Scouting Combine on Saturday, February 25 if your interested in watching player workouts.

All in all, the combine isn’t the most entertaining thing to watch but here are 2 things I will be keeping a close eye on this week:

1. Wide Receiver 40 yard dash times – The 40 yard dash might be one of the most over-rated drills at the combine but this year there are a few players I like but question there ability to separate at the next level. Players like Alshon Jeffrey, Jeff Fuller, and Mohamed Sanu just to name a few.

2. Defensive Tackle bench press reps – Vikings could use an upgrade at Nose Tackle and have been rumored to like Dontari Poe from Memphis. I’m sure we will target a Nose Tackle sometime during the draft so I would like to see how some of them stack up in strength in this years draft class.
