    More practice squad caliber players

If he can block well for AP~Gerhart~Harvin out of the FB spot he should be more welcome by those 3 ~ He seems to have good hands also even though he wasn’t thrown to much ~

I get the laughs and giggles from fans who are unhappy with what Rick is doing in FA ~ Yet Rick said the first day he was named GM the Vikings are going to build through the draft ~ Only one draft pick didn’t make the roster last year ~

But the coaches must see something in some of these young men ~ They keep DeMarcus Love & D’Aundre Reed on the active roster even though they didn’t dress for a single game ~

We all know the Vikings lost 8 games by 7 points or less even though McNabb was throwing the ball at receivers feet and Ponder playing like a rookie with no WR’s other than Harvin who was doubled once Jenkins when on IR ~ Things could be a lot worse~

Yes things could be worse, they might have the Smooter come back and try out for a spot. 🙂
      Go Vikes

Spielman/Frazier’s inaction on Defensive Free Agents is curious.

Fine. We’ll build through the draft. Except first choice should be Kalil where Left tackle spot is clearly open. We’ll have to draft WR before the third round.

D-line is the exception. Otherwise there are a bunch of positions MLB, OLB, CB, nickelCB, SS we shouldn’t expect rookie 4th/5th rounders to fill. Jasper Brinkley at MLB? Asher Allen at CB? Marcus Sherels in the nickel?

Confused with new Defensive Coordinator inaction and 2012 roster acquisition strategy.

I think the plan for this off season is to help bring Ponder along and put pieces in place for him to improve and succeed. It’s a rebuilding process not a one year turn around. Hard to fill all the needs we have in one year. Also remember its still early in free agency, with plenty of talent left and we are looking at around 10 draft picks.

They have to get a MLB via FA. In order to build a depleted team thru the draft it will take a few drafts. With all the needs there is no other option than FA. Right now they find themselves in a position tn trade down and stay in the top 10? Trade for some early rounders. I feel the team waited to damn long to buile exclusively thru the draft.
