Jason La Canfora of NFL.com posted on twitter that free agent cornerback Chris Carr will be heading to see the Chiefs than to Minnesota. Carr who is 28 spent last year dealing with injuries than got buried on the Ravens depth chart late in the year.
Pioneer Press states that Carr will arrive in Minnesota tonight. Vikings have already signed 2 free agents that spent last year injured and now have turned their attention to another.

Not impressed with Carr at CB, rather go with a draft pick and not an over priced free agent!

I don’t think you can assume that any of our draft picks this April — with the exception of the No. 3 overall — will contribute in 2012. You may recall they signed Benny Sapp off the street before playing CB Burton last year. DT Ballard didn’t play much after the preseason. OL Fusco and Love also were limited despite the starters being injured or struggling.
Maybe these guys weren’t ready to play, or maybe the coaching staff was afraid to put their jobs in the hands of rookies.
Either way, I wouldn’t expect that to change this year. It’s clear they trust injury-prone veterans — like Carr — more.
If Vike picked receiver in 2nd round he would probably be third receiver. Might depend on whether receiver had played in pro-style offense. Your right not to expect too much from first year WR
If we go with a strong safety my guess is he’d start. We could expect an up-and-down season as we had from Tyrell Johnson his first year.
Kick return is different where we could expect some early results. There are few players like Colston/Steve Johnson/Knox taken later that surprise. Then there’s the odd 1st round bust. But draft ratings are pretty accurate for WRs and they say pick them before 3rd round.
Good point, Lost Viking. As of right now, both starting spots are vacant. If they re-sign Abdullah, he would be one starter. The other spot would likely come down to a competition between Mistral Raymond and a draft pick.
