Even with expanded roster nine selections on Day Three is madness.
There may be three roster spots available.

Best option would be to flip a couple of choices for 2010 futures. Another alternative would be trade for veteran help: Jacoby Jones from Houston or an interior lineman – Vaughn Martin from Charger if available.

Chances of ‘hitting’ on late round receiver or QB is a longshot.

I really don’t understand the jarius Wright #118 selection from arkansas. he seems on the small side 5’8 180.
Not really what i expected for our first wide receiver selected, but I will be open minded. maybe he is a diamond in the rough

  5. Erik says:

Smith and Blanton…this will be good (unless it’s against Michigan in the last 5 mins of the game)

  6. Trip says:

Pretty good draft for the Vikes!
    Childs pick was too high,
Ellison pick was way too high,
Walsh would’ve been a free agent after the draft,
All other picks solid to great, plus gained 2 picks next year.
    Overall Grade: B+
I’d rank the Vikes as the 5th-7th best draft.
    Well done!

Saw some tape on Trevor Guyton, pretty solid. Rotational guy that could end up starting. Good burst off the line and uses his hand well. Happy with the draft, filled some holes and got some quality players. I’m giving Spielman a B+ for this draft. Now let’s hope this youth movement brings a spark to the Vikings!!!

  8. Lost Viking says:

Someone explain to me why we had to move up into first round to select Harrison Smith? San Francisco didn’t need Safety. Buc needed everyone but S. Colt? Ram?

Where was immediate threat of losing the selection coming from?
