Vikings Release OG Lewis and TE Hardy

The Vikings released a pair of practice squad players from last year, tight end Daniel Hardy and guard Butch Lewis. Neither player saw the 53 man roster with their short time with the Vikings.

Vikings are pretty set at both positions after adding solid players through free agency and the draft.

Vikings are currently at 65 players on their roster with 10 unsigned rookies as of now, plus 15 UDFA’s.

Its reasonable for Viking fan to concede the 2012 season as another rebuilding year. However, the NFL is never predictable.

My 2012 prediction is one NFC North team will struggle and it won’t be the Viking. By mid-season Lion, Packer and Bear were all heading to play in the SuperBowl. Expect at least one of these teams to fail to keep it fresh. Each has their own issues.

Viking will be picked to finish last based on 3 and 13 last year. That record doesn’t count for much though. Team still has 6 players in top 100 and considerable strength through Offensive and Defensive line. Key will be moving the offense.

2012 could be a fun year if:

    1. If AD is able to start with the new O-line
    2. Viking make progress on stadium deal
    3. Frazier is able to tighten up defensive play

Just a prediction but Vike should concede nothing in 2012

    Not a pluralist, Zag.

How about a story on Longwell or something? Now that he is no longer a Viking and all . . .
