Vikings Interested in S Melvin Bullitt?

Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com posted on twitter yesterday that former Colt safety Melvin Bullitt is at broadcast boot camp but fully expects to play football this year. He also went on to say that the Kansas City Chiefs and the Vikings have shown interest.

Bullitt was released back in March due to a failed physical. Missing all but 2 games last year with a shoulder injury and only played in 4 games in 2010 with shoulder problems.

Rick Spielman has taken risks on players this off-season coming off of injuries and I wouldn’t be surprised if he did the same with Bullitt. He is only 27 years old and has shown he can be a decent safety when healthy so a low risk signing doesn’t seem like a bad idea. Frazier coached Bullitt when he was the defensive backs coach in Indy and he is familiar with defensive coordinator Alan Williams who also coached defensive backs for the Colts.
