Make that 7 Pro Bowl Vikings.
The Vikings will have over half a dozen players in the game Sunday night, as now rookie tackle Matt Kalil will be part of the NFC, taking the spot of Redskins left tackle Trent Williams.
The Vikings press release said that Williams will not play because of an injury, but the Redskins didn’t supply any information on what had happened.
A league source confirmed that Williams did pull out of the Pro Bowl because of an injury, but didn’t have specifics on what happened.
Williams had stitches after his involvement in an altercation on Thursday, according to WJFK-FM in Washington, D.C. No other information was provided about the incident. Williams was in Honolulu all week practicing for the Pro Bowl.
NBC Sports’ Pro Football Talk reported that sources said that Williams was a victim in the incident and did nothing wrong. He will attend the game but will not play.
Kalil is the only Vikings lineman to make the Pro Bowl, and was part of the unit that helped RB Adrian Peterson rush for 2,097 yards in 2012.
