Rumor is that vikes are looking at Gase the OC of Denver Broncos.
    Here’s a mistake in the making……..
Payton Manning is the master mind of the Broncos…….not Gase.
Vikes are going to flop if they pick this guy….he isn’t the answer

2jocat: Then who is? I don’t have any idea who or how many guys are being considered, and how many of those will actually interview with Viking management. The other question I see is, which of the potential candidates that are interested, and interviewed, will be enough to get the team started in the right direction, go forward, and make a big enough impact on the players themselves, so that they will share a rapport, a chemistry, and that the team likes and gets on board with the program. I’ve heard a few names mentioned, and although, as I said, don’t know much about them…the defensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks, Dan Quinn, sounds to me like a prime candidate. I mean, just take a look at the Seahawks’ defense.I have heard also that Quinn had built outstanding defenses for a couple other teams before gong to Seattle. Hey, DEFENSE WINS BALL GAMES…the ’85 Bears, the Steel Curtain, The Purple People Eaters. The Vikings (Spielman) MUST MAKE A SMART DECISION WHEN DECIDING ON A NEW QUARTERBACK!!!! This is key, no doubt about it, for obvious reasons. Then they need to shore up the O-line with a guard, and/or a tackle…SOLIDIFY THAT LINE, while rebuilding a less than mediocre defense into one of the most feared units in the NFL. Yeah, I know that’s a tall order…really tall…but that’s what needs to be done if this organization (including the Wilfs) wants to be cream of the crop, to start showing signs of becoming a dynasty. You know, you gotta dream big!! As for the new head coach, my first choice was Jon Gruden, but it seems that he has totally eliminated himself from consideration…pity, he’s got the fire, the will, the grit, and the heart to turn a team around from mediocrity into champions. Maybe even Bill Cowher??? Just maybe??? WHOEVER TAKES THE REINS IN MINNESOTA, needs to produce results fast. I REALLY BELIEVE that the next two seasons at TCF Bank Stadium will make them a better team, a tougher team, and they MUST acquire the will and the heart to play for 60 minutes, NOT 55, and blow a lead,(and a win) in the last 3 or 4 minutes of a game…OR with 15 or 20 seconds left, and watch a winning field goal go though the uprights for the opposition as time expires. That’s my 2 cents worth, actually worth 20 bucks, if judging by the length of my comment!!

I like Dan Quinn, far more than Gase. I have to agree that Gase would be a mistake. Quinn could do great things for the Vikings considering their needs. It just might take a year or two to get things where they need to be. Quinn as head coach, Priefer as defensive coordinator, somebody competent as offensive coordinator… bam. The Vikings could be winning ball games.

However, I still would like to see Bill Cowher come in and handle the rebuild and the next era of the team, but Quinn is about as solid an option as exists in the available coordinator field throughout the NFL at the moment.

…and I can’t understate how important it is to keep Priefer and promote him to Defensive Coordinator.
