Over the last few seasons, the NFL has been taking notice of concussions and head injuries. It seems that tight end John Carlson, is also very cautious of concussions. In 2013, Carlson suffered his third concussion since being in the league. Now, Carlson is contemplating retirement.
As for general manager Rick Spielman, he says he has not heard a peep from Carlson if he would be returning to the team or not. Carlson is set to make 3.9 million if he comes back in 2014 to serve as the second string tight end behind Kyle Rudolph.
Carlson played in 13 games and made 8 starts, while recording 32 receptions for 341 yards and just one touchdown. The 29-year-old Carlson has a total of 177 catches, for 1,906 yards and 14 touchdowns.
