Rebound For Chad Greenway?

Chad Greenway has been one of the most popular Vikings for years.  Now with Jared Allen and Kevin Williams no longer on the roster, Chad will be leaned on for his leadership more than ever.  His on field play over the past couple of seasons have left me wondering if his bloated salary cap number is worth keeping him on the roster.  His play has not been very good (according to pro football focus) but to be fair, the defense as a whole hasn’t been very good.  How much of Chad’s play can be a result of poor coaching scheme or a major decline in his ability?  Maybe the entire defense simply didn’t buy in to what the coaches were selling.  If players do not buy in it would seem likely that many players would underachieve.  I’m not saying Chad was an underachiever but is it possible to be a hard worker, great teammate AND be described as an underachiever (in terms of on field production) due to an incompetent coaching staff?  Seemingly everyone says that Coach Zimmer can get the most out his players and even get players back to their top form.  Chad could be the perfect candidate for the Vikings comeback player of the year if Zimmer’s success continues in Minnesota. If Chad struggles this year I’m assuming he’ll be the next Vikings veteran shown the door.
