According to a report by Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post, Adrian Peterson is next expected to be suspended unti he is convicted of child abuse.
Hubbuch tweeted “Source says Vikings don’t expect NFL to discipline Peterson unless he’s convicted. “You can indict a ham sandwich,” source said.”
Peterson was booked and released early Saturday morning in Texas.
The NFL’s personal conduct policy contains clauses that ban all criminal activity as well as “conduct that imposes inherent danger to the safety and well being of another person.” While Peterson’s actions can’t be considered criminal because he hasn’t been convicted yet, he has admitted to whipping his son. In my eyes, that counts as conduct that imposes inherent danger to the safety and well being of another person.
It’s at the NFL’s discretion of what falls under that category and what doesn’t.
I think Peterson will be suspended, it’s just a matter of when.
